Greco-Roman star Kamal Bey signs with Illinois RTC
Greco-Roman star Kamal Bey (Colorado Springs, Colorado / US Army WCAP / IRTC) signed with the Illinois Regional Training Center.
Bey, who was the 2017 Junior World Champion and a member of the 2018 Senior World Team, is originally from Illinois, where he was a star at Central Oak Park and River Forest High School. Bey graduated from high school in Colorado, then trained in Colorado Springs at the US Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. Most recently, Bey became a member of the US Army’s World Class Athlete Program.

In addition to her gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, Bey finished seventh at the 2018 Senior World Championships and fifth at the 2018 World Junior Championships. Bey won a silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Championships. Bey won four US Senior Open national titles
âGrowing up in the Illinois system, Kamal was very successful. It will be a great partnership as we have the opportunity to give him the resources he needs to aim for that Olympic gold, âsaid CRTI head coach Bryan Medlin.
