Inam Butt takes gold at World Beach Wrestling Championship

Pakistani wrestler Muhammad Inam Butt won the gold medal at the Wold Beach Wrestling Championship held in Turkey on Monday.

Inam scored his supremacy in the -90kg freestyle final against his Georgian opponent with an exhilarating display of performance and overall prowess, according to information made available to APP by the Pakistan Wrestling Federation here on Monday.

In his remarkable efforts en route to the gold medal feat, Inam beat wrestlers from Romania, Ukraine and Greece maintaining a winning streak. Butt beat the Georgian wrestler in the last match by 3-1 while defending his title.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) President Syed Aqil Shah praised the national hero for achieving what no one has ever achieved for the country.

“The PWF leadership has made every effort to promote wrestling and Inam’s gold medal performance is the result of years of dedication and visionary planning by the leadership of the federation under the chairmanship of Syed Aqil Shah.” said PWF Secretary Mohammad Arshad Sattar.


In a video message, Inam Butt dedicated his medal to the young wrestlers of his Akhara stating that these kids are working extremely hard to get the ring ready. “There are no basic facilities in our ring in Gujranwala, but the young wrestlers work hard every day, which is why I dedicate this medal to them.”
