Moline wrestler DeAnthony Parker won the Greco-Roman Junior National Championship on Friday.

Parker, who went undefeated last year in his final season for Moline High School, won the Junior National Crown at 182 pounds with a 10-0 technical drop in 1 minute and 12 seconds against New York’s Michael Altomer. Altomer recently finished his junior season for Minisink Valley High School in Slate Hill, NY
A four-point throw gave Parker a 4-0 lead, and he never looked back.
The championship follows a seventh place finish in the national freestyle competition earlier in the week in which Parker defeated Griffin Gammell of Iowa 10-0 by technical fall in his final game.
Illinois also won the team titles in the Greco-Roman and freestyle event.
Parker, who will return to Fargo to wrestle at North Dakota State University, won the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association State Tournament at 182 a month ago after COVID-19 took off. wiped out the IHSA State Tournament.
