The top amateur wrestler would soon start with the WWE

Bobby Steveson is expected to start working with WWE soon.

Steveson is a former heavyweight amateur wrestler from the University of Minnesota. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Bobby will officially start with WWE with the Performance Center’s next class of rookies. He reportedly recently trained at the WWE Performance Center.

Bobby was an NCAA Qualifier in 2017 and a two-time Letterwinner at the University of Minnesota (in 2017 and 2018). He won his first two open tournaments of his career at the Cobber Open 2015 and the Buena Vista Open 2015, then finished second in his third open tournament appearance, the UNI Open 2015. He was also a Redshirt Senior for the 2019 season -2020 with an overall record of 4-3.

Bobby is the older brother of Olympic heavyweight wrestling hopeful Gable Steveson, who is expected to be a lock on coming to WWE after completing his own college eligibility, which would be the 2022 season, or he could wait. after the 2024 Olympics. Gable talked about working with WWE at the end of his amateur career and wrestled Brock Lesnar on the mats in 2019 and 2020 when Lesnar visited his alma mater, the University of Minnesota , as noted here, here, and here. Gable is the highest-ranked 285-pound NCAA wrestler in the nation as of mid-February. The Steveson Brothers are both lifelong pro wrestling fans and were top talent on the University of Minnesota Gophers wrestling team.

WWE just announced the largest rookie class in history this week, so it could be several months before a new class is revealed. We noted earlier in the week how WWE Hall of Famer and former talent rookie Gerald Brisco responded to Parker Boudreaux signing with WWE by sharing an older group photo of Parker and other skills. Bobby was one of the talents in the photo, indicating that he hung out with Brisco.

Stay tuned for more from the Steveson Brothers in WWE. Below is a photo of Bobby with Triple H and Paul Heyman at a RAW show in August 2019, and a photo of Bobby with Brock Lesnar at a WWE live event on March 9, 2018 in Minneapolis:
