A mad wrestler who punctured a referee’s head with a spike several times after losing a World Pro Class Wrestling match has been barred from returning to the mat.

Devon Nicholson, who wrestles as Hannibal and Blood Hunter, lost his match to fellow wrestler Carlito in Irving, TX on Saturday night.

Nicholson, 39, then expressed his anger at referee Lando Deltoro, grabbed him in a headlock and cut off his skull with the metal tip.

The bloodied referee needed seven staples to close the gashes.

The Canadian-born wrestler and YouTube personality claimed the ref was “hired to bleed” at the World Class Revolution Star Wars Christmas event.

“This referee was supposed to be bleeding from razor blade cuts. I guess he actually cut himself with the razor blades, said Nicholson, whose YouTube channel has over 300,000 subscribers.

Video footage of the incident captured the wild incident as the 280-pound wrestler chopped off Deltoro’s head.

Onlookers watched in horror, shouting “Let him go!” As Deltoro remained cradled by Nicholson.

Nicholson repeatedly dipped the sharp object into Deltoro as blood trickled down the front of his face.

A wrestler then climbed onto the mat to lift Nicholson off Deltoro before a male spectator grabbed Deltoro by the legs and pulled him out of the ring.

However, Nicholson’s anger was not over as he then grabbed a belt which hit the viewer helping Deltoro to the head.

The viewer is then heard screaming in pain on the floor as Nicholson lifted him up and started punching him.

Before members of the security team had a chance to remove him, Nicholson grabbed the bystander and threw him against the metal barrier.

We do not yet know what condition it is in.

It is not clear whether Nicholson will face charges for attacking Deltoro or the spectator.

Deltoro posted a statement on Twitter to take stock of his recovery progress.

“Recovery at home, still a big blur and pain, yes a lot of pain. But I will live. Thank you all for your love and support. I firmly believe that if you put good in the world, the good will come back to you #downbutnotout, ”he said.

“World class, in the future, will not be associated with Devon Nicholson… in any way, shape, form or fashion,” said Jerry Bostic, CEO of World Class Pro Wrestling on Monday.

“I can’t, don’t want to condone what happened last night. I did not see the actual incident. I didn’t see anything until I got out and Lando was lying on the floor and it was one of the most horrible things I have ever seen.

He also added that the “hit” was left to Nicholson’s own devices and was not planned as part of the game.

“Someone went into business and went too far and someone could have lost their life because of it,” he added.

“I had no idea what was going to happen in this match, but I’m not a hardcore wrestling fan and had confidence that this would be taken care of through other channels and it’s my fault that I Trusted, number one. And number two, Devon has proven he can’t be trusted in this situation.

In a YouTube response from Nicholson, he claimed he chose to end the partnership with the wrestling organization.

He further explained that the attack was a “hit” and that Deltoro was “hired to bleed”.

“He gave me no indication – and you can look at the footage – no indication to me in the ring that he was not just selling and was legitimately injured.”

He also claimed that he didn’t think he was actually hurting Deltoro during the attack as he believed he covered the tip of the toe with his hand.

“If he had told me he was hurting himself, I would have stopped,” he added.

Nicholson also said he apologized to Deltoro, as the referee claimed they were “cool”.

“He knows I didn’t mean to hurt him,” Nicholson said.

Jerry Bostic, CEO of World Pro Class Wrestling, said the organization would no longer be associated with Nicholson and that the attack was solely planned by him.

Wrestling fans and social media commentators have since been horrified by Nicholson’s actions.

“I lost all respect for Hannibal after seeing the video and hearing the firsthand testimonies. You can’t trust him with the lives of other talent, ”commented Mark Wrenn.

‘Why ? Almost legit dude killed someone and is still trying to fight others around the ring, ”GamesWithTheOne said.

“Hannibal has never been there mentally. That doesn’t surprise me, ”added Mr. Dunkus.

Nicholson was a decorated amateur wrestler and a replacement for the Canadian team for the London 2012 Olympics after winning a silver medal at the Greco-Roman Olympic Trials.

In 2014, Nicholson won a $ 2.3 million lawsuit against Abdullah the Butcher in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice after suing the wrestler for infecting him with hepatitis C during a match.
